device - the network equipment that supplies the connection to the data outlet. Each activated outlet will be associated to a specific port on a specific device, usually either a hub or a switch. Devices are referred to by name (ie: mymachine.psy.example.edu) and, when searching, any portion of the name (eg: my or machine or psy) may be queried for a match.
